Our Dens
Bobcat (All Scouts)
First graders, and anyone beyond that grade who is new to Cub Scouting, completes the Bobcat Badge prior to working on their grade-specific badge of rank. Kindergartners, who are Lions, do not work on the Bobcat Badge. |
Lion (Kindergarten)
Cub Scouts who join in kindergarten or first grade join with an adult partner, usually the parent or guardian. A Lion or Tiger den should be no more than eight Cub Scouts and their adult partners. |
Tiger (1st Graders)
The Tiger Cubs are first grade students. They come in as new scouts eager to learn and have fun! Over the course of the year they will finish 5 requirements that have multiple tasks to achieve to earn their Tiger Badge. |
Wolf (2nd Graders)
Wolves are second grade students. They complete 12 requirements over the course of the year. Each requirement has multiple levels. Achievements such as Physical Activity, Know Your Community, and Making Choice require more than one aspect to finish. |
Bear (3rd Graders)
To be a Bear, scouts are in 3rd grade. Bear Scouts must complete 12 of 24 requirements to earn the Bear Badge. Along the way, they learn about themselves, their community, their family, scrapbooking, learning about tall tales and participating in community events. The big achievement is learning about knife safety and earning the whittling chip. |
Webelo (4th Graders) This is the first year of a two year program to help the boys transition to Boy Scouts. Boys at this level are usually in 4th grade. They begin to complete the requirements needed to complete the Webelos Badge, earn Compass points, and start on the path to earn the highest award in Cub Scouting the Arrow of Light. |
Arrow of Light (5th Graders)
This is the second year of the transition to Boy Scouts. Boys are usually in the 5th grade. The boys focus on earning the Arrow of Light, and start to attend events with the local Boy Scout Troop - Webelos Woods. Their biggest achievement is earning the Arrow of Light and Crossing over to the Boy Scout Troop. |
